AMAZING FANTASY #15 CGC 7.0 UNIVERSAL

Winning bid: US $22,000.00 Seller: robojo33( 555)

Description:

Here's a CGC'ed comic in a grade that's rarely seen listed on eBay.

This listing is for an off-white paged Amazing Fantasy #15 in CGC Universal F/VF 7.0 condition, featuring the origin and first appearance of Spiderman. The CGC serial number is 0033452002 (old label!) and it has not been resubmitted since it's first and only submission.

It's the original 8/1962 newstand issue and is not a reprint. The spine is incredible, the colors are bright and bold, and the cover is very clean and glossy. It is more aptly described as a VF/NM to NM- comic with minor right edge chipping and one pre-chip (attached chip).

It looks like CGC must have graded the comic while they were mad at it.

All 4 posts and the edges of the CGC case is in tightly sealed, untampered condition.

According to GPAnalysis, the last recorded CGC sale on an unrestored Amazing Fantasy #15 graded higher than 6.5 was July, 2007 when a Universal 7.5 auctioned for $23,200.

Around the same time, an 8.5 sold for over $80,000.

Currently there is a bid of $14,000 against a $20,000 asking price for a restored 9.0 on a popular internet auction site.

Last year, the White Mtn. CGC Universal 9.4 sold for $225,000.

A CGC 9.0 Universal recently sold for $139,000 .

This is a blue chip investment, a 7.0 with the look of a much higher grade comic, featuring the origin and first appearance of the most popular comic character, the title (Spiderman) of which drives the market. And with only one direction in value. Up. The opening bid is about what the CGC Universal 7.5 went for last year.

Considering that this looks like an excellent resub candidate for at least a 7.5, possibly an 8.0, in my opinion, it's a tremendous bargain.

Here's the book:
