We have a different approach to selling comics. Since I am not an expert and this is an ungraded book, I provide just about everything you need to grade the book yourself! I've noted flaws or unusual features that I saw in the book, but you are the best judge what is a flaw and what isn't – I'm not a collector and I don't know how to grade books so I won't try. There are also LOTS of detailed photos so you can see every fold, crease, ink smear, tear, hole, loose page, staple details, and anything else we can capture. Our photos are both in normal light AS WELL AS BLACK LIGHT to uncover many (but not all!) types of alterations. We may not publish all of them in the listing, but just ask and we'll be happy to provide them for you. Please ASK ASK ASK if you have ANY questions! I have photographed every page of this book and all points of interest, but I may have missed something so please ask! This is about as close as we can get to a "real-life" experience.

Please check our feedback from buyers of our comics who are satisfied with their purchases & our accurate descriptions!

Here are some of my observations on this book. Please look at the pics though, as they are the primary description of this book.

* This book is an absolute must-have for any Hulk fan or Silver Age collector. One of the key "biggies" that you'll want to have in your collection. It is rare to find such a significant and high quality book within your reach! Not only is this book in great shape, it comes with a CERTIFICATE from Matthew Wilson of Fantasy Masterpieces that the book in his expert opinion has had NO RESTORATION done to it.
* You definitely want to send this book in to CGC for grading. The book has some corner scuffs and small creases on the spine around the staples. There are a few small chips along the top edge of the front cover. There are also some ink smears inside the book. Judge for yourself – whatever is there is shown in the photos.
* The colors are bright – you'd never guess these are as old as they are – and the covers are nice & glossy
* The book is holding well on the staples. The book isn't exactly centered on the staples. Mr. Matthews explains that the appearance of the cover on the book is due to the way it was put together, and not a sign that anything was done to it! There's a tiny bit of roughness on the outer part of the staples.
*
* There are no pages missing. No coupons or other pieces cut out. No tears in the pages. No stamps or writing. The paper has darkened a bit especially around the edges, but there's no obvious signs of brittleness.
* See other pics for other observations
* The black light did not show any repair or restoration work

Please feel free to email me if you would like high-res scans or photos emailed to you. I want bidders to have as much info as possible! But ask EARLY – I can't guarantee that I can respond the last 24 hours of the auction.

This comic belongs to a serious collector of high-grade comic books who made every effort to determine if repairs or restorations had been done. HOWEVER… he has not continuously owned all of the books from printing to now. And what was done before he bought the book is unknown, even though he did everything possible to ensure that the books were not restored or repaired.

Our photos are a key part of our descriptions!! If its not mentioned but is in a photo, consider it DESCRIBED! Please click on the thumbnails below to see a larger view.
