High Comics Related Item For the Week Ending February 18,2006

Interestingly, I lost a post yesterday. Blame blogger.

We have a first for this feature. A tie.

One of the pair makes my inclusion of the Best Action #7 in the the 100,000 club list seem like a solid choice. The other is just plain cool.

Here's Book #1.
Action Comics #7 (Dec. 1938) CGC 4.0 – 2nd Superman Cover / 3rd Highest Graded Copy!!!

Seller: vigilantecomics ( 190) Final Tally: : US $23,500.00 (Reserve met) (BIN)

Here's the description:

"VigilanteComics Presents the DC Golden Age pedigree key – Action Comics #7 – in an unrestored, CGC graded
Very Good condition.

This is as close as it gets to an Action Comics #1, the second ever cover appearance of Superman in this beautiful
copy of Action Comics #7. Action 7 is much rarer than Action Comics #1, as it is 1 of only 7 unrestored copies in
existence (as opposed to Action Comics #1 with 19 unrestored examples thus far discovered). This copy is also the
3rd Highest Graded Copy, with only 2 copies higher! This comic is also a pedigree and comes with a certificate of
authenticity (see image below) as being purchased from the original owners of the Crestohl/Ross Collection.

This book has amazing Off-White pages and gorgeous cover color which truly beams this Superman appearance out
of another age… And how bout’ being bounced around in the air by the Man of Steel himself grabbing your foot, really
take a look at what’s happening on that cover! This is a true investment piece and a sound one for the years to come.

Here's Book #2

1939 Superman 1 CGC 2.0 Beautiful 1 of 16 Graded

Seller: hccollectibles ( 706) Final Tally: US $23,500.00 (BIN)

Here's the description:
"I am ready to let this go. I am starting the bid at my lowest acceptable price but this 1939 Superman 1 Comic should be worth over $25,000 at least let alone it is graded and Certified which makes it that much more valuable. It is one of only 16 Unrestored complete issues known. The book is gorgeous and the colors and printing lines are perfect. It is as good looking or better than many that have graded higher due to no writing or misaligned printing, etc… CGC notes are Cover and centerfold detached which would account for its grade but it is all original and the cover and centerfold are there and not a bother since this likely would never be removed from its graded holder and this is just a note since you can not see that at all when viewing this. Cover spine is intact! Page color notes are Tan to Off White. CGC case is beautiful and this will be shipped Federal Express overnight mail which I will pay for on behalf of the buyer. "
