Attributes:

o Action Comics No.1 includes the first appearance and origin or Superman, drawn with a simple "S" in a triangle on his chest, Clark Kent, and Lois Lane as created by writer Jerome Siegel and artist Joseph Shuster. Superman, or his alter-ego Clark Kent, is an orphaned alien who, as an adult, writes for The Daily Star and hopes to the date the lovely Lois Lane who calls him a "spineless, unbearable, COWARD!" This story was so incredible and so different that the creators — prompted by five years of rejections from numerous publishers — explained, or justified, their hero's abilities with a comparison to the strength of ants and the jumping ability of grass hoppers.

o Action Comics No. 1 features Superman on the cover, and in the lead story. This comic book is significant not only for introducing Superman, the first "super hero," but also for starting the Golden Age Of Comics. Following the first issue of Action Comics hitting the streets on April 18, 1938 as the June issue, these pulps for childen quickly grew to reach a readership of one million per issue.

o Action Comics No. 1 is "uncommon" in its availability according to the Gerber Comic Book Scarcity Index meaing that it falls within the 50 and 200 known copies range. The exact number of Action Comics No. 1s in existence is unknown. The general belief is only about 100 remain. The opportunity to buy a copy of Action 1 only comes around two or three times a year and many books cost in the multiple of tens of thousands of dollars if not more. Only 27 Action Comics No.1s are certified by the CGC. Of those, eight, or almost one third, have some degree of restoration. This auction is for a "Universal" grade copy meaning that after a very thorough restoration check at CGC no signs of past tampering with this book were found.

o Action Comics No. 1, sixty seven years after hitting the news stand, is the best comic book value in the world. Due to the combination of it being the most sought after comic and its low numbers, it is ranked number 1 as the greatest, most significant, and most valuable comic of all time. At $485,000.00, an Action Comics No.1 graded at 9.2 receives the highest price of any comic book in the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. Rumors continue that the owner of the Mile High copy refused to sale the book for one million dollars. The Metropolis Index lists a high-grade Action Comics No. 1 as having a 15.11 percent Compound Annual Growth Rate. That means the book doubles in value every five years!

o This auction is for a Comics Guaranty, LLC blue-label, or Universal grade, certified copy. It receives a grade of Poor/.5 with the following comments: "COVERLESS, CENTERFOLD MISSING, DOES NOT AFFECT STORY. INCOMPLETE. CREAM TO OFF-WHITE Pages. Certification Number 0118834001. D.C. Comics, 6/38 COVERLESS/INCOMPLETE, Origin and first appearance of Superman, Siegel & Shuster story/art."

Included with this comic book is a professionally recreated cover by conservator Matt Nelson of Classics Incorporated. The comic book was encapsulated coverless. "
