I'm probably blowing up someone's spot since this isn't a typical outlet for Frazetta and some comic-centric collector might be expecting a deal. If that's you, I'm sorry. Your potential auction house arbitrage deal is dead before it even launched and I'm to blame. Trust me, I've been there.
With that apology out of the way- Swann is auctioning off a Frazetta original from his Lord of the Rings set.
Even if it is an alternative or preliminary take on the image, it's undeniably cool.
If I remember correctly this set was something of a failure commercially. This surprised Frazetta. I'm not personally familiar with the set as a whole, so I can't comment on why it might or might not have been successful.
What I do love is this particular image, so I'll just leave it there and get on with my day.
