Five For Friday: (Superman #1, X-Men #1, Leifeld, McFarlane, Arthur Adams)

An interesting selection of lots this week. Including this:

  1. Superman 1 CGC 8.5 VF+ DC 1939 Action Comics EP: Filter81 brings the big guns to eBay all the time. This is no exception.
  2. X-Men 1 CGC 7.0 C/OW Pgs , NO RSV: Any other week and a nice, mid-plus grade X-Men #1 would be the most notable book up for auction.
  3. McFarlane Inks New Mutants #86 Cover Liefeld 1st cover: Even I think this is cool. I remember seeing this cover and knowing, immediately, that this Liefeld guy was going to be popular. I made a boatload of money off of New Mutants #87 because of it. Whatever you think of the guy, this is a piece of history.
  4. Todd McFarlane original AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #305 art '88: This is like a prototype McFarlane page. It's got a lot of things I associate with his art- the moon, the ridiculous (but cool) flowing cape and the funky web+goofy pose Spider-Man in the lower right.
  5. Arthur Adams Original Art X-Men Annual #10 Longshot: At one point this was a key book. Adams art was a big deal back then and Longshot was a hot character for a minute back there.
