This auction is for an original painting by modern master BRIAN BOLLAND for the wraparound cover to VERTIGO: WINTER'S EDGE #1. This is (as far as I know) the ONLY painted wraparound cover that Bolland ever produced, and to make it even better it is not only a wraparound cover, it is actually circular, the right side of the image mirrors the left (see photo mock-up). This cover also features 13! characters from various Vertigo titles, including HOUSE OF SECRETS, Neil Gaiman's SANDMAN, THE MINX, SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATRE, THE DREAMING, HELLBLAZER, NEVADA, BOOKS OF MAGIC, Grant Morrison's THE INVISIBLES, and PREACHER. This is truly a unique and extraordinarily beautiful piece of art. Also of note, Bolland no longer produces originals on paper, he creates all of his artwork digitally, so there will be no more pieces available. Pen and ink w/watercolor paints on paper (21 x 17 inches), excellent condition. Signed by Bolland.
