Description:

Absolutely beautiful Tarzan Sunday pencilled and inked by the great Burne Hogarth. From 3-2-1941, this features Tarzan being held captive in a temple by a mad priest. There are some great shots of the soldiers keeping Tarzan captive, and Tarzan is in most panels. powerful work as water comes rushing in to flood the temple and the priest begins to panic. Hal Foster had not been long gone from the Tarzan strip, leaving to create Prince Valiant. In this early example, Hogarth's style semi resembles that of Foster's. Dynamic figure drawing and perfect anatomy as Hogarth was known for. Size is 28" x 22" and in excellent condition. Tarzan title logo is a stat, but the rest is all original.
