After doing some errands around lunch time and then knocking back a heaping helping of leftovers, I'm going to be spending Black Friday on my couch, reading comics (I'm almost caught up!) and a book on Caravaggio.
Fun it up.
Before I do that, here's some randomness.
Since it keeps coming up over there (hi Bruce, hopefully I'll see you next year at a show), here's a short bit on why I no longer post at the CGC Forums. Let's call this my official statement:
anonymous cowards (people who hide behind IDs to viciously attack people ad nauseum) + shills run rampant + an overriding (and still growing) obsession with controversy (both comics and board) and the negative aspects of the hobby = a place that's not worth the effort for me. There's just not enough positive content there for it to be worth it for me to take the time to wade through all of the bullshit. It's not a question of being "thin skinned" as so many people are saying (about me and every other long-time poster that has left.) I never got into flame wars (except with one anonymous poster- but that ended years ago when I put him on ignore) and with a few exceptions, I got along with the vast majority of posters there, so I'm not sure what it is that I could possibly be "thin skinned" about? Nope. It's just to me the place had turned into what felt like 10% signal and 90% noise.
