Gene Ha Auctions For a Friend
Artist Gene Ha has made his mark – actually, many of them – on the comics industry. With work ranging from Alan Moore's Top Ten to Marvel's Fantastic Four: The Wedding #1, the he's got a strong fan following.
But before he was a successful professional, he grew up in South Bend, Indiana with his friend Barry Winston. When Barry, a single father, died suddenly in the early hours of New Year's Day, he left behind a 12-year old daughter, Brianna, and a mission for Ha.
He is auctioning his cover from Fantastic Four: The Wedding #1 on eBay, with the proceeds going to Brianna's educational fund. Other than eBay's cut of the final price, 100 percent of the price paid will go to the fund, he said, with the artist himself paying the shipping, insurance and eBay listing fees.
