ComicConnect Sells Superman #1 CGC 7.0 for $2,604,750

This is beyond the high end of what I realistically thought this could do. I recognized it could surprise since this is such a crazy book to try to source, but much more than 2.5 million seemed unrealistic to me.

What are the better copies worth? The best Superman #1 is the 3rd most valuable book after this, right? I can't escape that idea now. It's the Church Action #1, the Allentown Detective #27 and then the best copy of Superman #1.

It's got to be a $7,500,000 to $10,000,000 book.

The Church copy is easily a $5.000,000 book.

The best Superman #1 is worth more than the second best copy of both Detective #27 and Action #1 and is worth more than the best copy of any other book.

ComicConnect Sells Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 9.0 for $490,000

Incredible Hulk #1 Breaks Record Price into Pieces

Another day, another comic, another record – investment collectors are procuring the very best comics at historic prices as the market shows no signs of slowing down. ComicConnect notched yet another new record in their fixed priced marketplace with the highest price ever paid for an Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 9.0 at $490,000. With only seven copies certified higher on the CGC census, the Silver Age key is notoriously difficult to find in high grades. The comic features the first appearance of the gamma-irradiated goliath and his human counterpart, puny Bruce Banner.

“With just one CGC 9.4 and six CGC 9.2s, pickings above CGC 9.0 are mighty slim,” explained Vincent Zurzolo, COO of ComicConnect. “High-grade copies of Hulk #1s are extremely rare compared to other Marvel keys. For instance, Amazing Fantasy #15 boasts four CGC 9.6s and a whopping six CGC 9.4 copies, that’s ten times as many copies as the single highest graded Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 9.4; and the owner of that copy is never going to sell.”

For investors looking to acquire a copy, ComicConnect is offering three examples of Incredible Hulk #1 in their auction ending December 16, 2021; a CGC 8.0, a CGC 5.5, and a CGC 1.0. If you have a copy you’d like to sell or a free appraisal, contact ComicConnect’s Director of Consignments Rob Reynolds. Email him at robr@comicconnect.com or call (888)779-7377.

“The new owner of this is fortunate to own a special piece of American Mythology that will continue to gain in value as a cornerstone of his collectible investment portfolio,” Zurzolo concluded.
