I just wanted to put that in writing. A lot of people who write in to get their comic books appraised say things like "it's still in the original plastic."
99.9999% of the time there was no original plastic. The pamphlet inside the plastic is the comic book in its original state. The plastic bag is a later addition.
And there you have it.
P.S. A comic in a bag from the 1980s is actually a BAD thing. It could do more harm than good as regular bags are really only designed to last a few years. Mylar? Sure. Archival. A plastic baggie from the John Byrne era? Not so good.

That's the way to go. As long as the environment is right, you can basically ignore books in mylar.

A while back I moved the bulk of my collection to Mylar (or mylites) as well. Unfortunately, it may be that the mylar and acid free boards (and the occassional deacidification page) cost more than some of my books are worth. But at least mylar makes almost everything look NM.

They definitely do look nicer. IT brings a sharpness to the books you just don't see in regular bags.
