Mound City:
It's not in the list yet. I have to research the other 9.4s before I add the tier into the list- does anyone have any info on the other 9.4s?
The result by itself is interesting, of course, but it's probably most important because it puts the value of the books above it into clearer discussion. Considering the 9.6s (when there were two) sold for right around 100k a few years, we're definitely looking at some kind of appreciation. I'm just not sure how much. And what of the top (non upgraded) 9.8? What's that worth now?

What a beauty. Is it worth $100k+? – I don't know. I do know it almost doubled in value in only five years… a 9.4 went for $57k back in 2004.
A 9.6 should be in the $150-175k range now after selling for $110k 5 years ago. The 9.8 must be worth $250-300k easy when compared to this sell price. It might even be worth as much as a primo unrestored Action #1… which is insane IMO.
In any case, this comic looks like a prime candidate for a higher grade (9.6) if the owner wanted to roll the dice & re-submit it… unless the o/w paper quality holds it back from that lofty height.
Thanks for sharing!

I'm with you on the value of the 9.8. It'd have to be worth something close to a FN Action #1. I know which one I would choose.
