This is THE HOLY GRAIL of Modern Age Comic books. Only 3000 were made(you have heard that before)!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure less than several hundred have survived. This is A VERY HARD COMIC TO GET in ANY condition.
This OVERSIZED, BLACK COVER, Extremely hard to grade comic is harder to get than SPIDERMAN #1 – try to buy a Spider-man #1 – versus this comic book…..Any luck? 🙂
How MANY GRADED COPIES EXIST on CGC?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Let's do some number comparisons…………………………………….
Hulk #1 (1962) : 477 CGC copies!!! (100,000+ Made!!!!!! I have asked many people..please verify) ) LINK
Fantastic Four (1961) : 648 CGC copies!!! ) LINK
Amazing Fantasy #15- FIrst Spider-man(1962): 952 CGC copies!!! ) LINK

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$TMNT #1 (1984): 208 CGC copies!!! (only 3,000 printed!!!) LINK
So theres twice as many HULK #1 from 1962! Imagine that.
These COMIC ARE A COLLECTORS DREAM IF YOU OWN THEM,
A COLLECTORS NIGHTMARE TRYING TO GET THEM!!!!!!!
VIRTUALLY NONE EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!
How would you know what condition they are in, really, unless a professional inspected them? That is what CGC does.
If you have these issues, well most of your dreams are fullfilled, and you are one of the only lucky people on earth to actually touch and bear witness to this comic book in real life – that has dissapeared oved the last 23 years!
A CGC copy of this issue is worth much more because in reality there are many counterfiets and printings etc…that you do not have to worry, because CGC has verified this comic book to be an original, FIRST PRINT, in NEAR MINT + CONDITION !!!!!!
ONCE YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON THIS WOULD YOU SELL IT? UNLESS IT'S FOR YOUR WEDDING, OR CHILDS COLLEGE – WHEN WILL YOU CASH OUT???? THIS IS THE ULTIMATE COMIC BOOK INVESTMENT, I AM SURE THIS COMIC HERE ALONE WILL FULFILL MOST MODERN AGE COMIC BOOK COLLECTOR'S DREAMS.
It's almost like the owners handed this to you 23 years ago, and you stashed somehow, in perfect condition, and now have a NEAR MINT + copy…how is that possible?
Which comic will you invest in? Which collection is harder to get!!!!
This looks like it was not touched by human hands.
You can imagine how many kids had this book, and it was torn read to death/torn apart!!! I had a copy of this book (second print?) when I was ten years old and I remember I brought it to school ALOT and let all my friends flip through it and read (carefully). After some time – I noticed the black ink on the cover was fading away and I tried to color it in with a Black Marker, many times, over and over. This copy is not like that – this copy looks like a better copy you will find in the newstand. This comic book deserves to be in a museum. This comic seems like it was sent from HEAVEN itself and now you can have it 🙂
I have read about Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird taking at least 500 copies of the original 3,000 copies, and cutting the covers off, to use the covers as advertisements as they promoted this amazing creation. I doubt even a couple thousand may have EVER gotten into collectors hands, most of which treated this OVERSIZED and BLACK AND WHITE comic as a joke/toy!!!! Initially, many copies that may have been put "on the shelves" maybe have gotten a price tag, I myself have seen MANY copies in stores in the 80's (before correct mylar bagging etc) with the price tag, and imagine how many people picked up the copy and read it, and put it back, or how many "store copies" where used to promote it….It wasn't until they realized this until the they printed 6,000 Second copies in 6/84!!!! And where did those go??? lol???? Those do not exist as well…why would anyone hang onto a second print of a comic book, unless they use it to read/throw away…Well, why would you buy a second print at the time, as a collector, if you knew there were first prints that can be had for $50-$200 if you searched around the NY/MA area. In the first year this comic book broke all myths about comics and it began it's own underground following where any artist thought they could become "rich" by making a Black and White comic book with a grungy/real life feeling. Then came the toys…children (like me) ate these toys up! Literally!! The first toys were made with rubber heads, and they were as fun to play with as a he-man or any wrestling toy made at the time. Within a few years – they were a huge huccess and had a HIT cartoon show on TV.Then came the movie, and it BROKE BOX OFFICE. Characters – that break box offices, keep breaking box offices, as you see now, OVER 15 years later, from a comic book that is over 23 years old. This is the comic that started it all.
I would hope this comic goes into the hands of someone who will really appreciate it. I will not end it early, and please do not ask for a lower price (unless you are involved with it's creation). This is a serious auction.
If you have less than a 5 ebay rating please do not bid before you contact me – it is highly likely I will cancel the bid. This is a fair auction amongst fair people! Please be fair. I am being fair.
I tried to take pictures as best as I could, here they are. For me it was VERY hard to make pictures of the HIGHLY reflective CGC case, and black cover, I used a friends scanner which was not the best also, so here I have included as many pictures as I could. Please remeber this is the nearest to perfect comic you can get so anything that looks "weird" like the white spots on the case are because of the light bouncing off or scratches on the case, not on the actual shiny perfect black cover itself (YES IT'S SHINY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
REMEMBER THIS IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS THIS COMIC COULD EVER BE- PICTURES DO NOT DO JUSTICE.
Please see my feedback – ALL happy customers on many high priced items.
Will ship overnight and Free to 50 states. If you are outside the US I'll try to figure that out too.
Good luck bidding – don't be afraid – this is the HOLY GRAIL – go for it, it should be yours!!!!!
