I purchased this book on December 31st 2005 for $11,850, it was worth every penny. I have enjoyed it for over a year and now you have an opportunity to enjoy a piece of history.
Up for auction is a CGC graded copy of The Amazing Spider-Man # 1. It was assigned the grade of 8.0 VF with OFF-WHITE to
WHITE PAGES, BLUE label, UNRESTORED, # 0107981001. This comic is simply AMAZING. I'm going to go out on a limb now
and say that this is probably the nicest CGC 8.0 VF ASM # 1 you will ever see. There are no major flaws on the comic. It was
obviously handled very gently over the years and well preserved. CGC was VERY VERY VERY tight on the grading with this one.
The front cover has the appearance of a 9.0 VF/NM. You will wonder, as I do, whether or not you could squeeze out another half grade to get an 8.5 if this was sent
back to CGC. The back cover is extremely clean. You will be greatly impressd with the condition of this comic. I have taken numerous
pictures so that you can see the comic from a number of perspectives. The colors are still very vibrant (notice the blue, red, and orange
colors). The cover gloss has maintained a high level of reflectivity. There are no date stamps or arrival dates, nor is there any writing of
the comic. The centering is very nice and the CGC case is in excellent condition. One of the best features with this comics is the OFFWHITE
to WHITE PAGES. You know that the pages are still supple with this one. This issue features the first appearance of J. Jonah
Jameson, the Chameleon, the 1st Fantastic Four crossover, and Spider-Man's origin is retold. With the price of high grade Silver Age
CGC Marvels going through the roof, this is a great opportunity to get this early Amazing Spider-Man issue while it's still affordable.
This comic is really a great deal when you think about the fact that in the guide (and we all know that high grade CGC Spider-Man #
1's sell above guide) a 9.2 goes for a whopping $32,500. This is a serious high grade investment copy. The great thing about this comic
is that you won't get this and say, "Well it's an 8.0, but I wish it didn't have this or that flaw." Let me repeat, there are no major flaws on
this comic. It is in beautiful condition. This will make a great addition to your CGC collection.
