No, Seriously. This is almost grail original art.

I didn't want to mention it, just in case it got spoiled, but… I just won one of my most wanted pages ever.

As my CAF want list states:

"Stormwatch and Authority pages
Stormwatch= from Warren Ellis' run (37-50 and Vol. 2) I'm especially interested in pages featuring Jenny Sparks. Authority= Mostly the Ellis and Millar runs for Vol. 1. I definitely have some interest in Vol. 3 as well. My biggest want from any of these books are the pages Tom Raney did in a Will Eisner style from Stormwatch 44 and again in one of the Change or Die issues (which I don't remember right now.) I'd LOVE to get my hands on one of those pages."

Tonight, I won this:

eBay: Tom Raney Original Art Stormwatch Eisner Homage item 110072890663 end time Jan-03-07 16:19:55 PST

It's not the best of the Eisneresque* pages, but all of them are cool and I couldn't be happier.

*As a note, if you know the pages in question, that's the ONLY way to describe them. But yet, an original art dealer got a little snitty for asking about one of those pages and offering that up as a description:

Here's the exchange:

Me: "I just want to if that's the Eisneresque page. There's no scan. "

Art Dealer:"Rob – I am not sure what you are asking here. But if you want to confirm a page availability, please send me a description of what is on the page, along with the first word balloon so I can confirm the page. Saying a page is "Eisneresque" is not a valid description. I am sorry."

Me: "Okay, sorry. I'll try that again…

"The first word balloon is 'I saw him once before he left.' As for describing it, a jpg is attached.

"I called it Eisneresque because it's done to look like an Eisner Spirit page, complete with a Spirit look-alike in the upper-right-hand panel. Oh well."
