Another quick hit. I'm super busy this week (thankfully my last busy week for the foreseeable future) so I've got to take it where I can get it.
The Reserve on the Flash Comics #1 is $273,125. Karnak says "RNM."
The top ten or so books by value are all RNM. $71k for the Daring Mystery. Nice starting point for my fantasy bidding war.
One book I'm interested in is No Reserve. It's been a LONG time since a book I was interested in was No Reserve and I survived this long as high bidder. Very cool. Silver Age. That's as specific as I'll get 🙂
Archie Comics #1 (MLJ, 1942) CGC GD/VG 3.0 Off-white to white pages. Nice. How many Amazing Fantasy 15s do you see for every one of these? 50? 100? How many Hulk 181s? 20,000? Archie #1 rocks.
Three Atomic Comics #1. I'd be really happy if I were one of those consignors. Really super doubleplus happy.
Has anyone tracked how many of the Crowley Fawcetts have actually sold? Are they selling and getting relisted and I'm just being inattentive or are they just going the relist route again and again?
Blood Is the Harvest #nn (Catechetical Guild, 1950) CGC NM+ 9.6 White pages. List one. I'll link to it. With a title like Blood is the Harvest I can't help myself.
Speaking of Fawcetts. I think GA Captain Marvel is pretty cool. I just thought I'd share.
Not that I'd buy a copy of Whiz #2 any time soon.
I'm in the middle of a pretty boring section. I could work a little harder and pull out a link or two, but page after page of RMN books that I'm not all that interested in specifically are dulling my senses.
Crack Comics #1 Mile High pedigree (Quality, 1941) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. There's a link. $25,000 for that book.
Criminals on the Run V4#4 Mile High pedigree (Curtis, 1948) CGC VF/NM 9.0 GREAT Cole design.
Daredevil Comics #1 Mile High pedigree (Lev Gleason, 1941) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. Ever get a good look at the GA Daredevil? That's one crazy costume. The Claw was pretty nutty looking too. Great run of Church copies for sale in this auction (good luck JP!)
Detective Eye #1 (Centaur, 1940) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white pages. There's my Centaur link.
As a note, I just saw a painting worth a half mil on the Roadshow. Not too shabby. Let's see how close the Pay Copy gets to that figure…
Exciting Comics #57 (Nedor Publications, 1947) CGC NM+ 9.6 Cream to off-white pages. I'd be in the mood to buy one of those this month. Of course the only one they have for sale is one I already have. Grr. Gnash. Grrr.
Fantoman #4 (Centaur, 1940) CGC VF 8.0 White pages. I just like the name. Fantoman. Maybe I should do one of those Alan Moore style revivals.
Morgan Webb is on my television. She's talking about the Resident Evil series. Yay world. 'til tomorrow.
