Know what rarebit is? Based on the sellers focus, it's specifically a reference to the Winsor Mccay strip Dream of the Rarebit Fiend, but in a general sense the specific dish in question (Welsh Rarebit) is a doozy. It's a frightening blend of cheese, beer and toast- tastes that very well might taste great together but blended seem like an emetic to me. (Here's Alton Brown's version for those who are curious

Three bumps along the left edge (not affecting the image area) and several stains (see scans), but nothing that couldn’t be cleaned by a professional restorer within an hour.
A superb piece from the poetic painter’s prime period!
