AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 Appt. NM to NM+ 9.4 to 9.6 *1963*

Winning bid: US $6,766.67 Seller: robojo33( 1340 )

This listing is for a remarkable off-white to white paged Superman #1 in Apparent NM to NM+ condition. It's the original 1963 marvel comics group newsstand issue.

It has been minimally, professionally restored. There is light professional color touch (no bleedthrough), which most will not be able to detect. It has not been trimmed.

The comic is original, complete, glossy, clean, and has no other restoration of any kind..

PLEASE NOTE: THIS COMIC IS BEING LISTED AS RESTORED with FULL DISCLOSURE and WILL GRADE RESTORED IF AND WHEN SUBMITTED.

An apparent grade reflects the overall appearance after restoration. This was obviously already a gorgeous high grade comic before the application of the invisible, professional color touch.

Amazing Spider-Man #1! Unrestored CGC F/VF WHITE PAGES!

Winning bid: US $9,900.00 Seller: showcase-4( 227 )

(a forumite, but not one of the usual suspects :) )

Description:

This low reserve, 7 day auction is for one of the consistently hottest and most desirable Silver Age Marvel Keys of them all — The Amazing Spider-Man #1!!! This 1963 Marvel Grail is more popular and in demand then ever, as the recent sharp pricing increases of AF15 has many collectors turning to this issue as THE semi-affordable Key Spidey Grail. The #1 issue of the #1 Superhero of the #1 most collected title of all time, The Amazing Spider-Man #1 is one of the most important and highly sought after comics in all of Comicdom.

CGC certified 7.0 F/VF Unrestored with WHITE PAGES!!! This is a VERY attractive 7.0 …..only some minor handling wear, stress, and minor creasing — signs of the book having been read (G-d forbid) keep this book from grading higher , with no "stand out" major / unattractive condition defect. The best thing about this book is what is does not have……..no Marvel chipping, stains, missing pieces, clipped coupons, writing on the cover or interior pages, spine splits, rusty staples, loose cover, dust shadow, edge tanning, and…..no rat chew! The cover inks are fresh and bright. My pics have not been enhanced or altered — check out this books coloring! The comic has really nice structure and lies flat – the Professional pressing by Matt Nelson may have helped :) This is a very clean copy with great curb appeal (and yes, I have owned quite a few for comparison!). Just back from CGC, the holder is in perfect condition. Small date stamp on the bright white back cover. Now, let's talk PQ! ……. GORGEOUS, SUPPLE, NEWSSTAND FRESH, SWEET SMELLING WHITE PAGES highlight this copy! The RARITY of WHITE pages on any SA Marvel, much less a Spidey #1, will and does command a premium, so bid accordingly and don't get sniped!

AMAZING FANTASY #15 FN/VF 7.0 UNRESTORED *1ST SPIDERMAN

Winning bid: US $22,100.00 Seller: robojo33( 1306)

Description

This listing is for a light cream to off-white paged Amazing Fantasy #15 in beautiful, strict unrestored FN/VF condition, featuring the first Spiderman appearance.

It is the original, issued in 1962.

Incredibly, the comic has no chips of any kind, detached or attached, on the right and bottom edges and there is only a trace of minor chipping on the overhang area only on the top edge.

Aside from some spine stressing, a minute chip, and a graphite rub at the spine between the two word balloons, the cover is nearly perfect, and I mean a very unsmudged, gorgeous cover, with briliant colors and incredible presentation.

The comic is clean, complete, and has no tape, repairs, or restoration of any kind.

I Thought it Might Be the Golden Age Green Lantern #1 Listed in the Wrong Category

Instead, it was just a silver age Green Lantern #1 listed by Mile High Comics for $873.60.

EightHundredSeventyThreeDollars&SixtyCents!

Considering I just bought a raw GD copy for $140, that might be a little high.

GPA reports the 12 month Fine average as $861. So, for only twelve dollars MORE you could hit the BIN on GD copy. What a treat that would be.

Both of those numbers are well below Overstreet, by the way, so it's not like this book is tearing up the charts at the moment (which is probably why I'm buying them- they seem like a real bargain to me.*)

In case you were wondering the GD price for the Golden Age Green Lantern #1 is, in fact, $3000, so there's really no reason in the world (even looking at the wrong book in Overstreet) for this book to be listed so high.

*it's true. Kane art throughout, great covers and the #1 is a year older than FF #1.
