The Incredible Hulk #1 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white to white pages.

Sold For: $14,000.00 Seller: ad7813(25)

Description:

The Incredible Hulk #1 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white to white pages. It's one of the hardest issues to find in high grade among the early Marvel Age keys. And key it is, with the origin and first appearance of the Hulk, and first appearances of Rick Jones, Betty Ross, and Thunderbolt Ross. The Jack Kirby cover and those cover text balloons are legend! Kirby also handled the interior art for this premiere issue.

ORIGINAL COMIC PAGE STEVE DITKO HULK #6 PAGE 3 1963

HULK SMASH.

He didn't really talk that way at this point. He just more of a jerk, than a dumb, SMASHING brute. Cool page, yo.

ACTION COMICS #24 ~ Vintage Superman Comic ~ CGC 8.0

Early Action Comics on eBay. You know I'm going to link to that.

Iron Man 55 CGC 9.8 NM/M White pg 1st Thanos Starlin

I should get a nice 9.4 of this book. I've got no interest in playing the 9.8 game here, but a nice 9.4 would do me nicely. (Runs to GPA) $400? Heck yeah. That's a plan.

HULK Issue 396 page #13 by DALE KEOWN

Two hulk pages on on Friday. I'm game. Especially since they're at the far end of the spectrum in terms of style. I loved Keown's run on this book. It was a blast each and every month.

WOLVERINE/WITCHBLADE #1 Pg.15 M. TURNER ORIGINAL ART!!!

I link to Mike Turner's art. 'nuff said.

Five for Friday

Well, if I had a hard time coming up with five last week, this week was just the opposite. What a crazy collection of books on offer this week.

Adventure Comics 40 CGC 8.5 VF+ EP 1st app Sandman RARE

Filter81 leads off this week with Adventure 40. Sure it's EP, but it's an Adventure 40. Not too many of those come up for sale, so it's a treat to see them whenever they do appear.

JACK KIRBY SILVER SURFER GRAPHIC NOVEL ORIGINAL ART

That Jack Kirby guy was pretty good. A Kirby page with the Surfer on it- I approve.

Incredible Hulk 4 CGC 9.2 NM- OW/W Marvel High Grade

I have a soft spot for Hulk 1-6. I never collected the later series, but I love Hulk #1-6.

MICHAEL GOLDEN DOCTOR STRANGE 55 ORIGINAL ART

This is truly classic Michael Golden art. I love Doctor Strange when he's done well, and for my money Doctor Strange 55 is basically as good as it gets. Just check out the page in question:

Detective Comics #225 DC 1955 Batman 1st App Martian M.

Fact: if you list a Detectivve 225 on eBay I will list it in Five for Friday.

High Comics Related Item For the Week Ending 2011.1.22 (Incredible Hulk #1)

Incredible Hulk #1 Grade: 9.0 No Reserve!

Really nice looking copy. Color touch be damned, someone is going to be happy with that book.

Winning bid: US $6,100.00 Seller: bijoubaby05 ( 113 )

Description:

Incredible Hulk #1

Features: 1st Appearance of the Incredible Hulk
Grade: In my opinion this comic is in 9.0 shape. There is a small amount of color touch on the cover of the comic. It doesn't detract anything away from this beautiful comic.
Page Quality: Off-White/White

And the book:

Five For Friday (Superman #1, Batman #1, Conan #1 Art, Adventure 40, Unattributed Keown Art)

Hulk 371 pg20

He might make a few more bucks if he mentioned that it was by Dale Keown.

Superman #1 cgc 7.5 ext (P) OW/White 1939 Original copy

Sure, it's Extensive. Still… it's a Superman #1.

BARRY SMITH!!! Conan #1 page!!! Fight with demon!!!

Conan #1 art. That's super cool.

Adventure 40 cgc 8.0 Moderate (P) cr to ow pgs Sandman!

Tough, key Golden Age book. If it was more sought after it would be through the roof value-wise. Very tough to find.

Batman #1 1940 Golden Age..Nice!

I'm weird in that I think Batman #1 is undervalued. Sue me.

Also at Heritage: The Silver Age Edition (Hulk #1, Green Lantern #1)

The following are two Silver Age books that I absolutely love.

Green Lantern #1 (DC, 1960) CGC NM 9.4

Green Lantern's recent meteoric rise bums me out. I was buying some Green Lanterns, and then, along came the movie blowing prices up on the really good stuff. Case in point, this book. This exact copy sold for 18,975.00 at Heritage in 2003. Recently, a 9.2 of this book sold for $30,450.00. What does that result mean for this 9.4? Hopefully some crazy number north of $50k.
