What a great page. From near the end of Colan's run on the book this page still shows everything Colan could bring to a page. What a great talent.

The Book:
That's a pretty bad-ass splash page, I have to say.
What's not to love about Early Planets? NOTHING, that's what.
It's MINTY.
My kind of book, just because of how rare it is for a new book.

A "Rare!" book that's actually pretty rare. What an odd book to see just show up on eBay.
This is a pretty memorable cover. Great design work.
Wrightson turned into a "batman" guy at some point. I wish he'd drawn the character regularly in the 1970s. That would have been a magical combination for collectors.
And finally… DARWYN COOKE IS THE MAN. BOOOOOOOM.

He didn't really talk that way at this point. He just more of a jerk, than a dumb, SMASHING brute. Cool page, yo.

I should get a nice 9.4 of this book. I've got no interest in playing the 9.8 game here, but a nice 9.4 would do me nicely. (Runs to GPA) $400? Heck yeah. That's a plan.
Two hulk pages on on Friday. I'm game. Especially since they're at the far end of the spectrum in terms of style. I loved Keown's run on this book. It was a blast each and every month.
