You thought I was going to start somewhere else? I don't care what anyone else thinks… To me this page is the best piece of comic art from the 1980s I've ever seen for sale and is one of the best possible pages from the entire decade. Simply amazing.

This was one of the first TC books posted and it served notice that there were some real gems hidden away in the pedigree. While the keys aren't quite the same level as some of the other Silver Age pedigrees, the books after 1963/64 are all in remarkable shape.

I've always liked this cover. It's a classic "comic book" cover. There's some Schomburg style danger and it's great tease to the story within. This is going to sell for many thousands of dollars.

Michael Turner Original art Ballistic Issue #3 pg23-24

Turner really burst onto the scene back in the day. This page, from his first series, shows why. He worked in a popular style, but managed to have his own flourishes that really set him apart. He also had a great design sense. Oh, and he was a solid artist. He was stylized, certainly, but underneath everything he could really draw. That set him apart from a lot of guys that were starting out back then.

He's missed.

Who are the others? Frank Quitely, Travis Charest (although he's basically just a cover artist at this point,) and then it gets tougher. Let's say Steve Mcniven and J. H. Williams III? It's tough. 10 would be easier after the first three (Assuming we count Travis, since he doesn't have much in the way of interiors right now.)

As a note, for me personally, this is one of the toughest auctions in recent memory in terms of knowing where to place my bids. I could probably bid on 50 books in this auction. I've got it narrowed down to probably six, but it's hard to choose.

I wouldn't even have them ship it with that frame. I mean, wow. I get the point, but it totally detracts from the painting. If McKean had intended it to be assemblage, that's what it would have been. This display is interfering with McKean's vision for the piece.

Oh, you mean there's another book in this auction beyond the Green Lantern #76 that people will be paying attention to closely? This little old thing? What's this worth now? It's hard to tell these days and FN/VF is always a tough grade to value. The 6.0 sold for a (high) $575,000 and the 7.5 sold for a (low) $657,250. This is $500,000-600,000? I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I've got no clue what this page will sell for, so I'm just going to sit back and watch the show.

Stunning page, really. The familiar intro to one of the biggest comics of all time, hanging on your wall… the mind wobbles.

Frank Miller and Joe Rubinstein Wolverine (Limited series) #3 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1982)

I smell big bucks. Compositionally, this cover, is superior probably all but one or two of Miller's Daredevil covers and because of Rubenstein's inks it appeals to an even broader range of collector. Don't like Janson's choppy line work? You'll find none of that here. What you will find is an early example of Miller using heavy blacks for both visual flair and dramatic effect. It's striking AND you feel a bit of what Logan's feeling. To me this is one of the coolest pieces of Miller art they've ever offered.

And there you have it, a nice walk through Heritage's latest and greatest. To me, this is a pretty good selection. There's a nice balance between big books of all eras and great (especially copper age art. ) Now if I can just win the lots I'm bidding on it'll really be a winning combination.

Also Sean is good people, so you should bid early and often.

Conan is funny. I was never a huge fan growing up, but I've really learned to love the character over the past few years thanks to the Dark Horse title.

Here goes:

1. Cover Art Avengers 199 signed by Perez and Austin: An interesting piece since it's colored. Colored by Perez, sure, but colored still. Personally I'm fond of that issue and the cover itself, so I'm interested to see where it ends up.
2. Pep Comics #22- 1st Archie, Jughead, Betty! KEY GA!: A coverless copy selling for more than the Overstreet GD price. The book is both undervalued in guide (in all grades) and suddenly hot.
3. Albedo NR 2 (FIRST USAGI YOJIMBO APPEARANCE): I've always been a fan of this book.
4. Berni Wrightson Original Art Swamp Thing 10 pg 18 1974: I've never owned any art from this series. this won't be the piece, but if I were going to once again own some Wrightson art, it would be from Swamp thing.
5. Superman #4 CGC 6.5 "D" Pedigree. 2nd Lex Luthor app: What's not to love about this cover? Great stuff. Early Superman are where it's at.
