Jack Kirby Original Captain America Cover art

Sold For: US $15,000.00 Seller: kirbyart ( 3 )

From the Kirby family – this is the Marvel 1976 Bicentennial cover. It is signed by Jack in the lower left corner. The piece has your usual white out and pencil mark notes around the edges, but overall it is in good shape. Size of the cover is app. 10*14. It will be shipped in its current black mat, sliver frame. Action Comics #1 CGC 8.5 Sells for $1,500,000

I should point out, I valued this one correctly when it was announced.

And just like that, we have a new record and the 3rd seven figure sale. A remarkable month.

With this stake in the ground, the questions start to form- what's the Allentown Detective #27 worth? The Church Action #1? My gut says $2,500,00 and $3,000,000 respectively.

I really need to rework the top ten article, don't I? When I wrote that I had the Church book valued at $2,000,000, the Allentown 'Tec #27 at 1.5 million and this book at $800,000. Times have changed!

Comic Connect to Offer Action #1 CGC 8.5 For Sale

Word on the street (okay, word on the internet) is that Comic Connect bought outright the 8.5 from its present and longtime owner. The price paid is reportedly more than the 1,075,000 paid for the Detective 27 at Heritage last month. It follows, therefore, that that asking price will be significantly higher than that. My estimate for the book after the recent sales was 1.5 million. We'll see how that number fares when it actually comes time for the book to change hands.

All I have to say is- what a month! My head is spinning.

High eBay Comics Item for the Week Ending 2010.03.13 (George Perez JLA Cover)

George Perez Justice League of America Original Art

Winning bid: US $16,389.36 Seller: swing_daddy ( 343 )

Description:

This is an 11×17 (roughly) George Perez pen and ink original cover drawing from an issue of Justice League of America. As you can see, the page is a little dirty around the edges. It was this way when I got it, I imagine it got handled a bit.

As you can also see, the pieces was personalized, but it is not in a place where you could not white it out or cover it up if you choose to.

It's a nice piece with a lot of characters on it, kind of a Perez specialty. Not sure what issue this was from.

Ships via USPS. If you want a more expensive delivery than standard or would like insurance please let me know and I will quote it.
