I haven't finished going through all the Heritage Day 1 results yet but I was a bit surprised by the Archie #4 and #9 prices ($6,572 and $4,780 with buyer's premiums).

Jackpot #4 went for a total of $11,950.

Seem reasonable to you?

We can never get too much into the Archie weeds.

I like the Pep 23 better myself, even without your logic in regards to the release dates. with that info, I really like it. It'd be interesting to see how much information about release dates we could gather based existing copies.

Rob, this may be too much in the Archie weeds, but what do you think of this old post from Goldcomics.com (a great though waning MLJ focused site):

"Even though I have a really nice Jackpot #4, I hate how Overstreet/CGC lists that book as "On the stands Winter 1941 - Same month as Pep #22".

It isn't. I finally got my copy of Blue Ribbon #20, cover dated January 1942. The Mr. Justice story ends with an advertisement for "Jackpot Comics #3".

My Jackpot #3 has an arrival date of September 26, 1941. I've seen Pep #22's with arrival dates of October 18th, 1941. This would put Jackpot #4 being released a full 2 months after Pep #22, and simultaneously with Pep #24."

I ask as ComicConnect has a 9.0 Pep #23 which may be the more accurate 2nd Archie appearance. They are asking 10K. Granted, it is not a pedigree and does not have Archie's face on the cover but was curious your thoughts on Jackpot #4 v. Pep #23 and whether Jackpot #4 may be overvalued.

Thanks James,

No reason other than I somehow missed it. I've got the X-Men #1 from last week to add, so I'll queue up the Hulk #1 for inclusion as well.

Hey Rob,

Love your site, great for the hobby!

I noticed a Hulk #1 9.2 sold on CL for $117k, not sure the date. But it's not listed in your $100,000 club.

Is there a reason it's not in the club?

Some great choices.

I especially like the Jackpot #4 choice. That's going to sell for a lot of money. I'd hate to guess how much...

Flash 105 is a favorite of mine.

'Tec 31 would make a great poster.

Great list. I flipped through my catalog and came up with some of my favorites. Sorry I don't know how to paste links into this post.

Archie #4 - Early high grade (for Archie) issue. I might bid.

Batman #8 - I like the simplicity; my son likes the infinity aspect.

Captain Marvel Adventures #nn (#1) - I like the blue (and simplicity)

Detective Comics #31 - I would love to have a poster of this cover.

Jackpot #4 - High grade (Chicago pedigree) very early Archie - any guess on what this might go for?

Superman #2 and #14 - I love the simplicity of #2 - it has the allure of an issue you might find in your grandfather's attic. #14 is just a classic.

Green Lantern #1 - I am not a Green Lantern fan but still love the cover.

Flash #105 - I remember loving this cover back when I started collecting in the early 80's.

Marvel Mystery Comics #22 - I like just about all the war covers.

Archie Comics #7-12 bound volume - It would be great if Archie printed an archive version of these early books. I might bid on this.
